  • $1000 Listing Fee paid upfront (plus HST), saving the average Hamilton-area seller over $6000 compared to the typical listing commission

How It Works

The traditional MLS® listing is typically a 5% commission rate, with half for the listing agent and half for the selling agent.

The traditional commission rate was largely justifiable because agents don’t get to keep the whole commission. Not only do they have to split the commission with their company, they also have to pay for marketing out-of-pocket in the hopes of getting it back when the property sells.

This way of doing things poses a risk for the agent, because the property may not sell and they are still out-of-pocket for all the marketing, not to mention their time.

But with Jag Realty, there is no company split, and with the Smart Fee Listing™ the seller pays a listing fee and covers any extra advertising. This reduces our risk, so we take a commission reduction in exchange.

Smart Fee Listing™ vs. FSBO

Considering that a typical for-sale-by-owner (“FSBO”) MLS® listing is about the same price, this poses a pretty easy choice.
